Use the shotgun and sword and camp the top of the sniper and yellow lifts for easy kills while teamshotting the other team who are confined to the lower levels.

SWORD BASE - Weapons/Spawns/Callouts/Gameplay (Halo REACH: Slayer Map Walkthrough)

I found this very helpful the commentator does a good job of showing weapon spawns, map layout, and callouts.

Fantastic video if you are unfamiliar with Sword Base.
