Nice timing. I'm so pissed. Not only that, but after reading about this, I realize that my 360 is the reason a couple of my movie dvd are unreadable because of a nice engraving. Scratched to hell. Of course they only offer their byback $20 per replacement for a few of their own games. Everything else that these machines ruin? Oh well. I ask, where the hell are the lawyers. My 360 has been barely used in all honesty. How long will this take to get a new one? Is my hard drive coming back to me or what?

Do the good ol' Walmart gut swap. Buy a new 360 from Walmart, open it up and replace all of the insides with the insides from your RROD Xbox. Hook your old Xbox shell + new Xbox insides up to your T.V. and take the new Xbox shell + RROD insides back to Walmart along with your receipt, saying the Xbox you bought from them doesn't work and that you'd like your money back.

That's the quickest way, but you can also send your Xbox in for repair.  There's such a backlog of RROD now that they usually just send you a new or refurbished working Xbox within a couple days of receiving your old one.

Thanks. I tell you this suck big time. I'm lazy and I suppose the sending to M$ is my best plan. Do you have any idea about my hard drive contents? Surely they won't screw me by disposing of that also? Did you know about these things scratching the crap out of discs? No replacements for movies. What a joke.

Copy your hard drive contents over to your computer or just don't ship it with your Xbox. Gut swapping only takes like a half hour to do tho dude, and you'll be playing Xbox again the same day. Sending it in can take anywhere from like 4-5 days to 3 weeks.

Update: My 360 is on its way to M$ to be replaced. Won't cost anything so that's something positive. They don't ship you a box anymore :-(

dude my box RROD'd as well....and just a cvouple days after I bought FIFA 11. I guess FIFA was just too awesome and my box cud not handle it.

Oh well. I'll be baack by Thanksgiving

Is that ur first one? I laughed at the UPS dropoff cause I joked with the lady about how many xbox get dropped off. Lots apparently. A total farce imo. I pissed about the dvd movies that my xbox scratched to death. No replacement, nothing. They should warn people that it's a pos.

No I've RROD'd before, they gave me a "fixed" xbox......obviously its still broken.

Gutswapping is the solution to all of your problems. Get a brand new Xbox for free on the same day your current one breaks. And it's the same process that would normally happen, you get an Xbox that works and Microsoft gets their broken stuff. Only this way, you don't have to wait until Microsoft gets your broken piece of shit before you get your new Xbox.
