Why I feel we should have a FRESH START.
« on: November 09, 2010, 06:36:26 PM »
I know I keep saying. GE wipe everything clean. All former members and let us restart. I have yet to hear a response so maybe I need to back up my requests with some facts....

These are the first 300 registered members...

The first registered person on this site was GE Master, who registered on 8-10-07. He has 386 posts.

The next member came 10 days later on 8-20-07, Foehammer, he posted 32 times.

After that, we go one and a half months without a new member until Socorban on 10-4-07. He had 57 posts.

We then grow by 30 members in the following 18 days, but only one of them makes a real contribution to this site. Me. I joined 10-22-07 and I have 501 posts.

The next large poster is El Cazador 7 who registers 3 days later (10-25-07) and posts 93 times.

Within the proceeding 10 days we gain 2 large posters who post a combined 356 times.

On 11-17 and 18 we acquire DeathDealerz, and Gnome who share post counts similar to mine. (473 and 673)

A week later we gain our first "halo expert" Tactix who posts 73 times.

And one of our appointed moderators joins on 12-2-07 and posts 107 times.

The next substantial posters come on 12-26 and 30-07 with 111 posts combined,

Mightsnipe joins us on 1-7-08 and posts 178 times.

The most recent 300 members have a combined post count of 175. And LOTOR has 40 of those posts!

It took a little over 1.5 years to gain the most recent 300 members. Of that 300 only one member contributed anything and that was LOTR, he joined on 5-2-09 and has not been active since 11-23-09

And as of right now there are really only 4 active members: NA Golfball, Ponked, ACL Dissipate, and you (GE Master)
If you are wondering...

Ponked registered on 12-15-08 and has 304 posts.

ACL Dissipate registered 5-14-08 and has 459 posts.

From the information I presented above we can see that people are much more likely to join a forum and stick with it at its inception. People enjoy the thought of contributing to something fresh and new.

It took 5 months and 6 days to acquire 300 members. Out of the first 300 members, we had 13 people that made great contributions to this forum.  These 13 people combined for 1,894 posts!!!!!

Conversly, we observe that people shy away from forums that appear old, dead, and deserted. It took 1.5 years, (1 year 6 months 3 weeks to be exact) to gain 300 members. Of those 300 only 1 posted a fair amount, and he only posted 40 times. The total post count for the last 300 members is about 8% of the first 300. (175 of 2160)

GE if you want this forum to be lively again, you need to CLEAN IT UP!!!

lol. thanks, I was proud of myself. It took around 30 minutes to figure out all those numbers.

I was looking at some of the members with higher post counts most recent visits and was suprised to learn that...
Eli visited this site on October 30th 2010.
Gary visited here on October 20th 2010.
Those are both fairly recent!!!

Aside from that Brennan, Steve, Jaz, and Deathdealerz all have visited in the past year....all hope is not lost.

We just need to START FRESH

Yes, I would love to hear what GE's opinion is.

We'll have to wait though....

Sorry guys I honestly haven't noticed these threads. Sorry to reply so late. Again, the only issue is that posts from before gain rankings/traffic from Google. It's one of those things. It's valuable to have. I will just make the older items more compact and condensed. Hope that will help, but let me do that and you let me know your thoughts.

This. Keep the stuff around, but push it off to the side and reduce the clutter.
