Justin, I played some games today and man do I suck

I rarely go positive and if I do my teammate is going super positive. I play better in 4v4s than 2v2s. I just suck though. I thought my skill would somewhat transfer from H3. But I feel like I'm playing legit commanders and losing It sucks.

Your not used to the game yet. Your thinking capacity is going towards things like using armor abilities, pacing shots, aiming with little auto-aim, etc. Once you get to the point where the individual actions in Reach are natural for you (like they were in H3, you didn't have to think about leading shots anymore or using equipment), you'll free up some mental capacity to start playing smart and using teamwork. Just review film, and maybe play some MLG customs. I'm just starting to get good again, and I'm just about a Lieutenant Colonel Gr. 3 with a fair amount of customs played and warming up on Frunt.

Ponked is right, Reach is very different from Halo 3. I find it fits the style of Halo 2 better actually. Take some time to just run around the maps alone or with a friend and learn them. See where you can take shortcuts and check for escape routes. Also, while you're doing this, you could practice pacing your shots for the quicker, more accurate shots.

I think he knows the maps pretty well, he just feels like his mental game is gone, which happened to me.

I'm pretty excited for Christmas Break. I'll be posting some vids of my gameplay here. So if you wanna help me get better watch 'em.

I'm actually excited to get back to Reach, I'm going to get dedicated like I was on H3. I'll be done AC:B by next week and I'm going to start running a bunch of customs. Hopefully we can play some games, sometimes it's hard for me to critique my own gameplay because for some reason, I tend to justify stupid decisions in my own mind if it's my handily because I remember the game.
