i always shoot when the crosshair is red unless im reloading then i melee,but if i have the shotty i always aim for the head so its an instiant kill.
sorry dog but that's not how the shotty works.
1. there is no location damage with it, much like the assult rifle, this means that head shots do
not do more damage, have tested it, it was the same with halo 2, only in halo 1 could you get headshots with the shotty.
2. their is no need to melee. if you are point blank it will kill someone with full shields. think about it, if you had to shoot and then melee how would it be possible to get a bulltrue you would acualy beat eachother down and both die or the sword would win. the shotgun always beats the sword because it requires no melee at piont blank range so they die in mid lunge.
if you don't belive me than go try it in a custom or something, if the sword beats the shotgun then the shot gun is shooting to early and the sword is not yet close enough
