Grenades?

It seems like everywhere I look, one of the biggest tips is grenades.... But that's it. There's no metion of how to use them effectively. I'm having a lot of trouble finding grenade tips and strategies. I know that grenades are one of the "Golden Three Things of Halo," but just saying, "Use grenades," isn't enough.

Should I just be spamming every corner with grenades? Should I always save a couple "just in case?" Should I just use them anyway and trust that I'll run up on some more soon enough?

Post your most useful tips and tactics with grenades, and teach the rest of us n00bs how you "frag" with frags, plasmas, and spikes.

I throw them at everything! Especially if there is an area with them everywhere. Just start throwing them down hallways, in holes, around the corners of the room your in, bounce them anywhere. Chances are if you are in a room with a lot of nades on the floor people have been coming to that room quite a bit. I've killed DOZENS of people I didn't even know they were there.

i agree. another thing to master (i havent done this yet) is sticky nades. the plasma and spike. practice sticking opponents in custom games.

the one thing i cant do as i mentioned earlier is stick people when they are mid jump, but that shud be the optimal time to do it because there movement is constant and unchanging. so practice jumpimg around with friends and sticking people.
download bungie's "nades and spades gametype" you only get points for sticks and melees so it would probaby help alot.

Also, something that helps me alot is to bounce the frags off of a hard surface (hard floors, walls, anything except grass and sand really.) The more that you use them the better you will get about knowing where to aim and when to throw them. I usually bounce them off of the floor at people coming at me and I throw them at walls for people chasing me. :-) Hope this helps you a little!

Yep.. I need to practice on my grenade throwing as well. I do use them more often now, and my final game before I became a Major, my final kill was from throwing a grenade into a corridor on The Pit (where the shotgun is), I didn't even know anyone was there, I just threw it so try and lure anyone out, and it really did work... I'm quite good at sticking but I need to practice bouncing frags and still need to use them more.
