Halo 3 weapon spawn system.
« on: May 13, 2008, 06:58:44 PM »
in halo 3 every weapon in multiplayer has a spawn timer connected with it, meaning when the weapon is being used there is a timer that activates and counts down to zero, and at zero the weapon respawns.

Now supposedly the Halo 3 weapon spawn system works like this...

some weapons such as the BR have a constant respawn time. meaning when it is picked up the timer starts and after X amount of seconds it is back.

Other weapons however such as the Rocket have a set time on them with one stipulation a "drop respawn" this should mean that when the weapon is dropped the timer for it starts. BUT this isnt the case.

Yesterday i watched 3 films of me playing team doubles in MM on Epitaph. I watched the time very closely when i picked up the Rockets. And one would assume, "Hey in another 3 mins or so the Rockets will be back." THAT ASSUMPTION IS WRONG. In the three games i watched the Rocket respawn anywhere from two minutes and five seconds to six minutes after it was picked up.

So if neone has ne theories on how the respawn system works post it here. I'd be glad to test it out.

i do believe power weapons have a somewhat messed up spawn time....and the other more comon weapons such as br and needler....have common respawns....but then again BR are power weapons in the hands of a godly BR person.....

I think the drop spawn timer starts as soon as the weapon is picked up, but it just won't respawn until it's dropped. So, if the rifle has a 3 minute respawn time, the timer will start as soon as you pick it up. If you drop the rifle after a minute, it would respawn as usual. But, if you don't drop it for 5 minutes, it would be forced to wait until you drop it to respawn.... I think...
