Hey i already did the research on the elite and regular premium. There really is no difference. They use the same fans so you get the same noise pretty much. The drives are almost identical, the elite is supposed to have tighter pixelation but its unnoticeable. I forget where I found the comparison report at, if i find it i will post a link.

But aside from that, they are identical in every way. And any human being would not be able to depict any differences in game play, graphics or overall quality.

I've heard though something about high definition differences. Can the regular do what the Elite can do in that regard?

Yea i was lookin all over for that freakin report and i cant for the life of me find it. As far as the report on this subject goes the difference is very minimal to unnoticeable. I got a halo edition which i think is and elite style make up? Anyway. I cant tell the difference between my 360 and my buddies on the same hi def tv and he has the regular white premium edition.

Is it worth the extra money? I wouldn't really say so since that's the only real difference made and its hardly noticeable. That's like paying another 10k for a lotus with a pinstripe if you ask me. I could see reason in it if the graphics were incredibly more defined and noticeable. But i couldn't see a 100 or more $ extra for a thousand more pixel resolution points no way no how, you wouldn't be able to notice it much anyway.

Okay great points. I'll be honest, big hard drive, big deal. I'm thinking it's already been out for a while so do I really want to pay premium price for a >1 year released system. I know the life span of consoles... So, you've really helped me on this one.

No problem. I would recommend the regular premium model. Dont get the core, those systems suck. You will be buyin the hard drive the next week. Especially if you go live on it you will be in a pickle with the core system.

That's actually what I was going to mention. Alot of games coming out are actually thinking of requiring the hard drive in order to play. I'll edit the link in if I can find it before class is over.

The elite system has HDMI output. I don't believe that the premium system does. Both are HD, but if you have a television that supports 1080p, the HDMI cables carry a better signal then Component....or is it Composite? Get those two mixed up.

The Halo edition 360 also has HDMI cables. Ummm...one other point I guess, is that the Elite edition has a larger hard drive.

I would trade my premium for an Elite if I had a 1080p screen.

Well MS now has the pro bundle that comes with hdmi outputs. So, it's essentially an Elite minus the big hard drive. This is just another example of why it's worth waiting before buying the consoles.
