My life... (WARNING long post ahead.)
« on: June 17, 2008, 11:32:43 AM »
Hey guys its Cody aka GQLFBALL.  And this is my life...

Main Characters: Gale/ my birthmother, Patty/ my mother now, Tim/ my father now, Patricia/ my aunt, Jared/ my twin brother, and a few Doctors.

Before Iwas born my mother, Gale married a man named Monty. Now, Monty wasnt the greatest guy in the world, he yelled and screamed at Gale, he also drank, smoked, and did drugs. But she loved him so she stayed with him. Before my mother, Gale got married she also smoked cigarettes and the like, but after she got married she did it, even more, maybe to escape the harsh reality she had put herself in.

Years passed and her smoking addiction worsened, her stomach had been bothering her for a month now, os she went to see a doctor. After the tests were complete the doctor came back into the room with a look of sorrow on his face, he said, "Gale, you have cancer and it has spread throughout most of your body. And your PREGNANT. The best thing we can do is abort your babies and immediately give you chemotherapy to fight the cancer."
Gale still shocked replied, "Babies?"
"Yes," replied the doctor, "Your pregnant with two babies."
"So, doctor if I abort the babies and get chemotherapy right away, will I be able to live the rest of my life?"
"Well, if we abort the babies, and get you chemo right away you can live up to 3 years."
"And if I don't abort the babies and don't get chemo right away?"
"Six months to a year."
"I want to save these babies."
"I'll see what I can do."

From then on every other week Gale went into that same doctor's office to undergo testing to see the cancers progress. The day finally came when he said, "Gale, we can't hold off on chemo anymore. You HAVE to get chemo or you and the babies may die."
Gale listened to the Doctor and went throught the proper channels at the hospital to get chemotherapy. The next day she was to have her first chemotheraapy treatment. A new doctor walks in the room, "Hi. Gale. How are you feeling? Are you ready for your treatment?"
Concerned about the new doctor and his thoughts about her babies, Gale asks, "Your not going to hurt my babies are you?"
The doctor looks back sympathetically, "Oh, no the doctor who sent you hear told me about your situation and I am going to do all I can to help you and your babies, survive. Now are you ready for chemo?"
"Yes."
"Okay. Everyone lets get this show on the road."
As soon as the chemo was administered to my mother she went into labor. The doctors suprised, quickly performed a C-Section and removed my brother, Jared and I from the womb at just 23 weeks old. (Note: At that time it was believed if you were born under 25 weeks old, you'd be blind, deaf, and your lungs wouldnt fully develope. Ha! I showed them!) My brother and I weighed one pound seven ounces and one pound nine ounces. We were both around the length of your hand. We had round the clock care, one of my lungs was deflated (when born that premature ones lungs are about the consistency of tissue paper) so they had to "blow it up and patch it".
My brother on the other hand was in a horrible mess, his brain had hemmoraged (started bleeding) so they had to immediately perfome brain surgery. While they were in the brain they noticed an excess of fluid, they later diagnosed him with Hydrocephilus "Water on the Brain" So awhile later they had to go into the brain and install a "Shunt" a device which drains fluid out of the brain and takes it to the stomach and then out of the body the normal way. The brain hemmorage made one side of paralyzed.
The doctors said many negative thing about my brother like "he will be a vegetable, he will never walk, talk, or do anything." But today because of the parents I now have Patty and Tim, and their amazing love my brother can walk, talk and is definately not a vegetable. In fact, he can be very annoying sometimes.

If you have any questions go ahead and ask. I will answer them.
Sorry for the bad punctuation, I suck at English.
