% of 50's who bought their accounts?
« on: August 07, 2008, 09:46:16 PM »
I've been playing halo for a decent amount of time. And as any, every time I'd see that awkwardly homosexual wreath I'd become intimidated and naturally.. mess up. This was up until about a month ago when I joined a few teams and played some higher ranked matchmaking. In about 95% of the games I play with level 50's in them, they're garbage. And no this is no exaggeration. At least that percentage, maybe more. Ask Golfball or Mwiff if you don't believe me.

Now this gets me to thinking, how many generals actually bought their accounts? Seems like every time I go on gamebattles or mlgpro the front page of halo 3 is lines with people selling accounts. As well just about any other halo forum on the web.

In case your wondering, a very extreme case of shitty general syndrome is what made me post this. Actually, that's a lie.. I just made this thread to show you guys this game. But I might as well dress it up right?

The story behind this is, A friend of mine(general) invited me to his game. He's a good player, and never talks shit when it isn't due. I enter a lobby full of level 50's. Two fifty's on my team immediately talk shit about my "noob bar". By the end of that game I think I've heard the term "F***ing NOOB!" used a good 20 times, and after every death they repeat  "OH MY GAWD!".

Game =

So honestly, what percentage of people do you think actually earn their level 50's?
I'm going with 5%. Your opinion?

i agree that a lot of them arn't legit. but when you think about it. what good does it do them to have a fake 50.  there just going to get raped when they play actual 50's.

im not sure that only 5% are legit. i think its a bit more than that.  if you think about it, 50 isn't really that special. when you go from 49 to 50 it doesn't instantly make you better.   you just won a few in a row.   me and my friend both got our 50s the old fashion way of playing doubles and ranking up, were both very good but there are still tons of kid out there that are better.

just because a bird grade 2 beats a general doesn't mean that they bought it.  one of my teamates is a 47, he plays level 40+ MLG with us all the time against teams of solid generals.  he can out play them but it doesn't mean there 50s arnt real.

in my opinion, if you want a 50 just find a team and practice.  boosting or buying one isn't going to make you any better.  as for the kids who bought theirs, i hope i run into them in matchmaking

I've no problem winning matchmaking. Ranking up is my problem. You tell me getting first place with a 20+ ratio in lone wolves for 8 games in a row shouldn't budge me off a level 9. Same thing for slayer and dubbs'. I'm a 48 in both, can't remember the last time I went negative in dubbs'. Still it takes 8-10 wins in a row to go up on "na riangles".

True story, when I first made na riangles I got a 46 at about 120 exp. On my account before this one I hit 46 at about 40 exp(riangles). And I can confidently say I've dropped far fewer games on na riangles than riangles.

Alright, I'm sorry. no more bitching for me today.

I agree with you to some extent there are a lot of seemingly bad generals in MM. However just an example - one of my friends is awesome at sniping & SWAT. He got a 50 in SWAT which isn't as easy as eveyone claims (otherwise everyone would be a 50). Problem is he's not that good at slayer. Chances are he would beat most people in a game of snipes or at swat, but put him in an team slayer game and he's probably only a 40 at best.

This can be the same for lone wolves. This playlist requires a different skill set from team playlists and it may just be that the generals from this playlist have trouble being or forming part of a team.

& Riangle what you need to remember is that you are good enough for your 50, so it may just be that you are better than those generals rather than them being terrible - just to boost your ego lol

for the record, riangle, k/d has nothing to do with ranking up. the true skill system that H3 uses is based only on wins and losses and the level and record of the teams you play.

the reason that you reached your 46 so much faster the second time is based on the team you beat.  also im guessing that on your second accound you had a much petter win loss record.

when you have more games played it also takes longer,  i was a 49 and won like 7 in a row then lost 1 then won like 9 in a row before i got my 50  but i was a brigadier at the time. if i was only a captain it would have only taken like 4

I don't know if I worded it improperly but my first account(riangles) hit 46 a lot earlier than my second account(na riangles). And on my second account I was much more successful.

I have a 50 account myself that a friend of mine did for me free of charge. The difference is I never use it, and I've never used it in Matchmaking. Ever. Hence why I have so many other accounts like xdement1ax etc... I only have one because well, I could have one, simple as. Having a 50 account is fine but talking trash and paying to get it or have it boosted is the part I don't understand. It's like paying to get your butt kicked, lol.

If you're 48 or higher; you're considered just as good as a general in my book.

i think that a true test of someones skill can be seen in their MLG rank.  anyone can get to 40-50 in regular matchmaking.   when i see a 50 in teamslayer im not even intimidated. but when you play a 50 in mlg then you know there good.
