I say none. Just make them all new. I think Halo 3 did a good enough job bringing over the best of Halo 2. Does anyone think there is more than 1 or 2 Halo 3 maps that are worthy of a makeover? I mean, how much better can they make the levels? I doubt very much. I suppose from a competitive or professional standpoint it might make sense to port some over. If this is their last game, why not just keep all the multiplayer maps fresh new and original?

So, officially, what Halo maps do you want them to bring into Halo Reach and what if any changes should they make to them?

My vote is for bringing over no other Halo maps. All new I say!

I gaurantee you that the Pit will make a Halo: Reach appearance, it's the most popular Halo 3 map.  Other than that, I can see Construct, Gaurdian, or Narrows being candidates as well as maybe a Halo 1 map.  Historically, Bungie doesn't like doing too many remakes so only expect to see about 2-3, and they won't remake a map that has already been remade.

Yeah good point. I suppose they will strongly consider the maps that were endorsed by the competitive Halo leagues. Not a bad thing to keep some of those battlefields for the pros.

I think Pit is adored by the entire halo 3 community, competitive and non-competitve alike.

Bungie will begin to cater to the competitive community more and more however.  When they were making Halo 3 (during Halo 2), MLG was just some tiny little group that held little video game tournaments that got no exposure.  Now, MLG has a massive fanbase and partnerships with companies like Old Spice, Dr. Pepper, Stride, Doritos, and ESPN as well as Bungie, Bungie realizes how much exposure their game has gotten because of MLG as well as the future potential of the league.  Bungie even made every person on the design team for Halo: Reach attend an MLG event in the 2009 season.

Basically, by catering to your average player, you have a bigger target audience.  But by catering to the competitve community, you open the door forsponsors and massive profit through the game's exposure by MLG.  I bet the MLG community will be happy with Halo: Reach because Bungie knows that this is their only second chance and if they screw up like with Halo 3, the competitve community will most likely drop the franchise/developer (Bungie) for good.

Nice. I didn't realize that point about MLG and the Bungie Reach team attending events. That's comforting knowing they aren't going to try and recreate the wheel.

Yeah they even brought a few mlg execs over to Bungie a while ago so they could five feedback on the latest build of the multiplayer portion of the game.

Cool. You have some good sources!! From what you're saying, Bungie isn't going to screw this up. Your Halo 3 skills will carryover which is pretty damn important.

Bungie isn't going to screw this up.

Well, I wouldn't go as to far to say that.  Indicators are good that Reach will have way more competitive value than Halo 3, but Bungie just has a way of throwing in some really stupid shit that wrecks the entire experience.  I heard some stuff on the MLG forums, hopefully they're just rumours.  One of the things was that armor permutations had an effect on gameplay (facepalm), basically creating a class-system multiplayer like MW2 (double facepalm).

It all depends what the multiplayer is like, when the beta comes around I will be able to tell you what maps I would like to see.

I honestly hope they bring back Lockout from Halo 2. It's a great training map (you can practice anything other than vehicles on it), its a good FFA map, and its also a good Team Slayer map. I also like how the weapons are spread around the map, so its fairly even getting to a power weapon from any spawn.

I'd like to see Lockout too, but I don't know if they'll remake it a third time. I have nearly an exact remake of Lockout in Forge World if anyone wants it, it's almost perfect.
