Hey Gnom! I have a question (might seem noobish) Well, when I go over to my friends house we play team slayer with my other two friends. The map we play most on is the Pit. I have watched videos and gotten tips from the tip thread. I have a question about one, I always see people going for the sword. To kill a guy with a sword you back away throw grenades and shoot him. Whenever I back pedal they always catch me and lunges (I know you can lunge with a sword). Any more tips to kill him? It happens every time usually I always get chased down. Thanks again and sorry if this question is confusing Well first of all, if you know someone has a sword you should try to stay as far away as possible. And if he is camping with the sword in the sword room toss grenades in the little holes on the side of the walls near the side entrances to the sword room Remember don't get too close

Ahh, but what happens if they see you and chase you. I back pedal but they still manage to lunge and kill me. There are holes there? I should look next time! Thanks

You nee to not set yourself up for getting lunged at, if they are camping in knife room don't go there, the other team is a man down so that means you have an advantage, also if someone is chasing you with the knife just toss a couple nades so it hits them when they come around a corner or something. If you want more help I can add you and we can go over a couple things.

Hi Gnom3, I' m new to this site as i only got my xbox for xmas, i used to play a lot with my friend round his till he got rid of his xbox, but because i always played with him i find i use whis strategies instead of finding my own. For example he always used the assault rifle - beatdown where as i have just started using BR 3 body hits then a headshot which does work a lot better (although i do not claim to be a master of the headshot infact i miss more than i hit and therfore find myself changing back to the assault rifle and going that way) A few weapons i cannot use are the shotgun and the sniper as calm as i stay i always seem to miss with it i use sensitivty 6 at the moemnt is that too high for sniping? With the shotgun i do not use it often mainly in the pit to sort out the sword and even when i fire as he lunges i don't seem to kill him what are your opinions on the shotgun? Thanks Griff P.S Sorry for bad grammar its always been a bad point of my English. P.P.S Regarding the shotgun that is also an answer to Mark731's question about stopping the sword if you can use the shotgun well

Thanks Griff P.S Sorry for bad grammar its always been a bad point of my English. P.P.S Regarding the shotgun that is also an answer to Mark731's question about stopping the sword if you can use the shotgun well Running towards the enemy and beating him down is not his strategy, everyone uses it so don't say you are using his strategy, you are doing the exact same thing that every new player does I can 99.9% gaurantee so in other words you are using strategies that thousands of people are using so don't worry about that, your sensitivity is WAY to high you said you miss more than you hit with the BR and that is the reason why, if you made a switch from halo 2 to halo 3 then you need to know that having your sensitivity that high you are just setting yourself up for losing, try turning it down to say 3 or 4 and try using the BR it will be much more steady and you will be able to keep the your aimer on the opposing team more, you can add me Ashthera if you just wanna play with me or go over a few things.

Asthera,
I misphrased that not HIS personal strategy i meant the strategies that he uses instead of independantly choosing my own strategy.
I will add you now on Xbox live but i do not have a mic as of yet but will have one within the month.
Thanks for the advice.
Regards
Griff

ugh... I've been trying to play Halo3. I have NO CLUE what I am doing and have NEVER picked up an xbox controller before this. My question is... is there a game I could buy to start with so that at least I can learn the controller? Thanks in advance!

I dunno if Jaz still uses this site, so I guess I can answer 4 him I don't know of any other games that will help you get used to the xbox controller, try playing just some social slayer at first or maybe some lone wolves. Also, you can add some of the guys on the site and you can play customs with us here's my GT: Ponked

Hey guys. I am new to this site. My GT: DSA Capthemfoos. I have been playing Halo 3 ever since it came out, albeit some lapses in which I was playing COD4 and Gears 2 and such. I've had my amazing matches and I've had my crap matches. I would say that I'm an average player and that I operate well under a team environment. My big question is about sensitivity. Many people put on their hint list to increase the sensitivity to 5 and what not. I used to play 3, and did fine with it. I've just recently switched to 5 and I AM BALLS. lol. Is it just me getting used to it or is it that I should go back to 3? What sensitivity did you guys find the best? I am also on bumper jumper, by the way.

It doesn't matter what other people say is best. It's whats best for YOU that matters. Just find a sensitivity that suits you and stick with it until it gets too slow for you, then move up.

5 is great if you can get used to it, but whatever sensitivity you use, just stick with it. anywhere from 2-5 is best, anything past 5 and your BR suffers while anything below 2 causes your close combat to suffer.

Yea, I go with 3 sensitivity and I'm doing well. Now, Ghandi hopping. I know it helps you dodge possibly a few crucial shots, but I find it hard to aim at another target if its moving around while Ghandi hopping. Also, it doesn't seem like the pros use it that much in their videos. Should I ditch it?

I wouldn't say ditch it, but just use it when you are trying to get away. Not when you are trying to BR if it throws you off.

Ghandi hopping just messes you up, if you are trying to run away from someone turn around look down and try and remember the map well enough to navigate while you are looking at the floor, they can't headshot you while your head is down.
