New Halo 3 Experts.

Since there is a lot of discussion and discrepancy on who the new halo 3 experts should be I have made a poll.

Vote for who you want and leave feedback on all the nominees as to why they should or shouldn't be an expert.

As I'm new to this site, i dont have a vote on this. I do however, have a question for an expert.  Me and some friends have been playing Halo3 for about a year. We love the game, but know that we aren't real good or anything. We only get to play about 2 times a week and play ranked and social. In the ranked playlists that we play- mostly swat, team slayer and some double teams, we used to have allot of fun trying to play against guys that we knew were better than us. Sure we lost more than most would enjoy, but when we won, it was that much more satisfying. For the past few months however, we keep encountering guys that have stats that look unreal. Usually something like a level 45 with 175 ranked games and 170 exp. When we play these guys, they are impossible to take down. We set them up with nades and double team them with BR's and they can just walk through it and take out 2 of us. We have been chalking it up as lag issues or whatnot, or basically just unlucky events or so, but it's really hurting our desire to play. The other day we got done playing a team slayer match on the pit against some of these unreal stat guys and after the match was over and the screen flipped, we somehow, (and without them knowing) could hear the other team for about 5-7 seconds. They were talking about making sure the lag was still on before the next game. What the heck is that and what are these guys doing to get these stats and why, no matter what we do, can we not drop these guys? Again, i know we aren't the best players out there and there are allot of guys that are just simply better than us, but a nade and a br round to the head should be a scored kill no matter what their skill level is. It's getting so bad that my guys want to start playing something else cause they're so frustrated with it. We cant be the only ones encountering this..Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated..At least we would know what's going on....

If you are double teaming someone and he kills both of yoy, chances are it's because he had some form of advantage. I don't mean this in a cheating sense/lag etc - but he may have had a better position from which to fight from, he may have used cover or had a power weapon etc. There are numerous methods as I'm sure you're aware however the thing that is most apparent when watching better players is the way the move around the map. Always making sure they have a point of cover and a point of escape.

You'll find that if you think about map control and your position in relation to your team mates more you'll start getting the first shot on your opponent - which on XBL (especially for me) is critical.

thanks guys... i appreciate the insights- we used to spend allot of time watching game films for what we did wrong and what others did right- we havent done that as much lately- i guess we need to go back to the basics. I guess those guys talking about the lag, just really kinda got under our skins...still not sure what that was all about- maybe they really were just trying to mess with us- who knows- anyway, i appreciate it-

Most of the "unreal stats guys" you're running into in MM probably are legit.  Things like IP Flooding and lag switches are out there, but are extremely rare (I've played this game since Halloween and ran into legit cheaters once).  This time around (unlike in Halo 2, I've heard a lot of horror stories about Halo 2), XBL and Bungie do a pretty good job to make it a fair playing field.  Chances are, if the game is lagging for you, it's also lagging for them.

If one guy is killing both of you, he obviously had an advantage.  It could have been anything, a better BR, a height advantage, good cover, a power weapon, grenades, etc. or a combination of some of them.  One of the big keys to going positive and therefore winning in a slayer game is having the advantage.  You have to make a decision in an instant, but the main idea is that if you don't have the advantage, run.  This kind of thinking will save you countless deaths and in team slayer games, your deaths are just as important as your kills.

im gonna say delete everyone who isnt active from the experts page.....add Derek and cody....and have refined experts be us 3 i dont know....im already there so to me it doesnt really matter...but for sure derek and cody had better be up there
