hey, Truthfully... it is not easy to just play with pros... i have only played with about 4 big name pros and they are Walshy, igoturpistola, karma, and lunchbox.... to play with them you have to start from the bottom... start playing MLG with the guys in your friends list...whenever you play with someone better than you send them i friend request...eventually your friends list will be full of good players...play MLG with them and whenever someone rapes send them a friend request...eventually you will be playing with players at the semi pro lvl (if your good enough) and get the occasional pro in your party. --Seth (December 19, 2007) Hello, I was hoping that someone who receives this e-mail would be able to
answer me the following questions I have about the ranking system for
Halo III. I read an article today on haloforever talking about the
ranking system and how it is a tool, not an achievement. If that is the
case, then why is that someone can be a 45 in lone wolves, yet be a 1 in
team slayer? One thing I don't understand is why, for instance, if your
playing team slayer does your skill not go up if you play well, but do
not win the game? I have had several games where I am the MVP but lost
the game and didn't rank up. I can see this happening after one game,
but what about several in a row? I guess the main issue I have here is
that a player on the winning team with 1 kill gets experience and may go
up in skill, while a player on the losing team who is the MVP doesn't
get experience and may go down a skill. How does the ranking system
account for that? I really like team slayer, but it since "Trueskill" takes into account all of your games and averages your playing ability,
its almost not worth it to play any team games. Is this something that Thanks, Well jsp1ns, it's not whether you win or lose. That determines the expirience level. What matters is if your a lower level skill and kill a higher level skill, your going to rank a lot faster. Say if you were a 1 going in a game with all 30's and you kill them 19 times and they kill you 8 times. That's like triple the rank you get if you were to do that in a regular game with all 1's. Now if you get killed by a 30 and your a 1, than you lose less rank than you would if you were to get killed by a 1. Basicly you want to face better compotition if you want to rank faster. It has nothing to do with mvp or who wins. It just matters what your kill to death ratio and who you kill and who you get killed by. Have a question for a Halo 3 Expert or Haloforever.com?
